Who we are

Rimfire School is run by Rimfire, a small independent developer in Magnolia, Texas. We are not a school district and are not affiliated with any district, Canvas (Instructure) or the district's grade portal.

What we collect

• Early-access and district requests: your name, email, the grades you typed, and the internet address the form came from (to stop spam).
• Family accounts (once invited): parent and student sign-ins, the Canvas access key and portal sign-in you give us, and the school information those return - courses, assignments, grades, teacher comments.
• Your own notes, to-dos and files you add.
• Server logs: pages requested, time, internet address and browser, kept 90 days.

How we use it

Only to show your family its own dashboard, to email you about your account, and to keep the service running and secure. We do not sell it, rent it, show ads, or share it with anyone except where the law requires.

How we protect it

Canvas keys and portal passwords are encrypted. Each family's data lives in its own separate database. Connections use HTTPS. Only you and the people you add to your family can see your children's information.

Children

Accounts are opened by a parent or guardian, who decides whether a student gets their own sign-in. Students under 13 use the service only through their parent's account.

Your choices

Ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your information, or to take you off the early-access list. Disconnecting a child removes their Canvas key straight away.
